Liminal Space
The basil wilts
it’s anise scent fades
leaf edges brown
the air cools
change floats all around
vibrancy recedes
into a slumber
the moon phases
twilight beckons.
You’ve entered
the space between
a breath, a sigh
suspended in time.
Your cadence slows
waiting for atoms to collect
momentum to build
the swell to rise
carrying you
out of the gray
to a landscape of gold
dripping with rubies
the next space to call home
in your heart, your mind.
A pause
waiting
for a portal
to emerge.
Embrace this space
the fallow is fertile
it carries whispers
seeds of tomorrow
allow the liminal space
to envelop you
like a cloud hugs the sky.
